19 of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been earned on hard surfaces
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev secured his initial championship for nearly 30 months with success over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.
The athlete, a ex- world number one, has endured a torrid season, winning just one match at the Grand Slams and suffering a setback at the American major.
The player's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serve in specific - caused him falling of the top ten and ultimately separating with long-term coach Cervara.
Presently working with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, he has consistently progressed in the past month - peaking in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over opponent Moutet.
It is Medvedev's maiden trophy following the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard court since that period of 2023.
The win also means Medvedev has secured twenty-one victories at twenty-one various events.
"For the first time I have attended a event with my both daughters at once, so to get a title is especially meaningful," stated ranked player the champion.
"This title is in tribute of my younger daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I got when my first daughter Alisa was born was for her."
Medvedev, the former major winner, had lost his past six title deciders, including in Halle previously this season.
The player's counter-punching play style and recurring reactions on the tennis court had caused commentators to question if his ability to perform at the elite level was over.
But the athlete has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, making an effort to approach the net and compete aggressively, supported by an improved serving game.
Medvedev fought back from a break down in the first set against the challenging Frenchman, winning four of the concluding five exchanges to gain the advantage.
The pair swapped breaks in the following set before Moutet, striving for his initial professional championship, gained dominance to force a final set.
The opponent saved 4 initial break points in a tight deciding set before the champion secured a break to that score to serve for the match.
Suitably, he clinched victory with a point at the front of the court, with his opponent incapable to handle a shot after a lengthy match.
